Our April Meeting was a meeting of two halves, the first half was players on the stage, then we moved on to a free for all (practice night) format. We started with Michael playing Dark Island, Dundee City Police Pipe Band, Height of Cassino and The Balkan Hills. Our next performer was Bernard Bamber who started with Wild Rover and Leaving Of Liverpool,
he then went on to play Waltzing Matilda, Que Sera Sera, When The Saints, You’re My Best Friend, Old Flames, In The Mood and Happy Wanderer. Ann Parker was next playing Hungarian Rhapsody, Fancy Fingers Polka, Jack Allan Jive and Snow Waltz. Sara Daly then took her place on the stage and gave us Waltz For Father, Petite Fleur, Envikens Waltz and Just Call On Me. David Rigby followed Sara playing Que Sera Sera, Wild Rover, Highland Cathedral and My Wild Irish Rose. Our final player on stage
was Colin who led us up to the second half of the night with I Won’t Tell a Soul, Why Did You Make Me Care, Down Forget Me Not Lane, The Town I Loved So Well, Magnolia Wind, Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain, Sweetheart Of All My Dreams, Who’s Taking You Home Tonight and Charmaine.
The floor was then open for anyone to play anything in any part of the room, chat, drink coffee, repair accordions, swap tips, help each other with music etc.
The night ended at the usual 11pm when they came to lock the place up and we all went home happy to be able to meet up again and listen (and play) live music.

This Tuesday we will be meeting on Tuesday 17th of May. Doors open at 8pm with a hybrid meeting as detailed above. We will start with any players on the stage who want to play or practice playing to an audience, then we will move on to having the rest of the evening as a Practice Night. This way we can cater
for most people’s preferences in one night, if you prefer to play on stage please arrive sooner rather than later and we will get all stage performances done first. As usual there will be Tea and Coffee on sale at 20p a Cup.
Please bring yourselves and your accordion if you have one.
See you at 8pm on Tuesday 17th.
David.
