Some more information about the St Audries Accordion Week has been released. This is a week long accordion event on a campsite which, although it’s a distance away it is usually attended by several people from Leyland Accordion Club.
Unfortunately, Jean Hanger is unable to attend due to her husbands recently illness, Jean was due to run the Vintage Orchestra this year, the orchestra will still run and the team are currently organising who will run this orchestra. Nigel Pasby is also unable to attend this years accordion week due to health issues.
There are 2 Caravans that have now become available to book, if you are interested in booking one of these contact St Audries Holiday Park Direct on 01984 632515. Once you have sorted your accommodation contact the Accordion week team by email sabaccordionweek@gmail.com to book your accordion week tickets these cost £100 (per Accordion person for the whole weeks event) and lets you attend the festival. You will have to book accommodation on top
of the £100 festival ticket, which can be, but does not have to be, at St Audries Bay Holiday park. You can choose to sort alternative accommodation if you like and drive in to the site each day. This could be a local Bed and Breakfast, Airbnb or even the holiday park next door.

Accordion Team have announced some Tuesday workshops these are:
Andrew Purkiss – Musical Improv and Playing by Ear
Andrew will be leading an amazing workshop focussing on listening skills, improvisation and playing by ear. This will include playing without music using a simple tune to create and arrange together. All abilities are welcome for this wonderful opportunity to learn from Andrew’s Years of Experience.
Sammie Peckover-Mitchell - Technique and Bellow Work
Have you ever wanted to learn to bellow shake? Wish you could move your fingers a little quicker on the keyboard? Or Generally wanted to improve your technique? This session will incorporate some simple exercises with bellow work to brush up your technique.
Caroline Hussey – Ways to Approach Performance Anxiety
Caroline will introduce a topic she is no stranger to: nerves before and during playing! If you’re an anxious player please come along. We will talk about
what happens when we’re feeling anxious, and ways we can prepare for and cope with nerves when performing. Caroline will share some of the things she has used to move through anxiety – which can also help to support fluent and enjoyable playing.
Lisa-Lee Leslie –
Introduction to the B-System Accordion
Lisa-Lee will be offering the opportunity to come and learn all about the B-system accordion. If you have a B-System then please bring it along, if you don’t, there will be instruments for you to try. If you have heard Lisa-Lee play, then you will know this is a class not to be
missed.
