BBC TV Crew to visit the club this Wednesday
This story came in just after we sent the newsletter out to you, but being a time based news item, we thought we would let you know the following in case you want to attend or bid.
Today we had a phone call from a TV producer to ask if it would be ok for their TV crew to visit the club to do some filming. The show is called "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is", this is shown each weekday at 5:15PM on BBC2.
The show features experts who put up their own money to buy items at auctions, car boots etc and then they sell the items they bought to a good home, there are two experts competing against each other to see who can make a profit.
We were contacted by Paul Hayes who you may know from programmes such as Cash In The Attic, Bargain Hunt, and Housecall Is an Antique Expert from Morecambe, Lancashire.
Paul has bought an Accordion at an auction and is coming to the club to auction it off, The Accordion is a Pietro Americano Deluxe, The sale will be an Auction there is no reserve so the highest bidder can take this accordion home with them. The picture below is the Accordion that is to be Auctioned on Wednesday.
The TV crew will be with us for most of the night, they will be filming some of the concert and the audience while our guest artist George Zuchowski is playing. When we have our break (tea and coffee will be served as normal) the TV crew will take to the stage and Myself (David Batty) will be playing the Accordion to demonstrate the Accordion before it is auctioned. The Accordion will then be auctioned off. We are looking forward to welcoming the TV crew and we hope that you will come to support the club and have a great night out.
This will be good publicity for the club and the Accordion and who knows you may end up on TV in the next few weeks. Actual date and time of broadcast will be announced when we have further details.
