Ann Parker then took to the stage and gave us Romance, Wedding Tarantella and Under Paris Skies. Our next player was Rebecca playing Home On The Range, My Wild Irish Rose, Valse De Amile and a great version of Glamour Girl. It was now medley time with Bill Agnew who played No Regrets, La Vie En Rose, A Hard Days Night, Hey Jude, Achey Breaky Heart, Twilight Time, Down By The Riverside, Come Home Bill Bailey, 12th Street Rag, Slow Boat to China, Carolina In the Morning, Bye Bye Blues, The Sheikh of Araby, Song Sung Blue, Birth Of The Blues, Love Letters in The Sand, Baby Face, Forever Blowing Bubbles, Teddy Bears picnic, In The Mood, Inky Pinky Parlez Vous, The Man Who Broke The Bank At Monte Carlo, Lili Marlene, Seigfried Line, Sailor, I Don't Know Why, Blaze Away, The Last Waltz, Now Is The Hour and Show Me  The Way To Go Home. After a great selection of pieces by Bill I had to try to follow that ! I tried my best and played Alpine Breezes, Return To Sorrento, Fleur De Paris, Blackpool Belle, and finally to finish the night I played Now is the Hour as an instrumental on the first time through and singing the second time. This had been a great night of entertainment and its so nice to see local players entertaining us in the great relaxed atmosphere we have at the club.

Buskers Music

Years ago we used to have a group playing session at the end of our local players nights. To bring back the busking session on the local players nights I have been preparing some sheet music of simple tunes that everyone knows, please ask at the club for a free copy. If you can't read music then don't worry, the tunes are so well known that you will be able to play along with other players. The first sheets are a medley of well known tunes, once players are comfortable at playing these tunes I will print out the next medley of tunes to expand our repertoire. The idea is that you play, practice at home or at the practice nights, or join in with others on the concert nights. I think this will be very popular with many of our players who will have many tunes in common with other players.  Players who are beginners normally find it a good experience to sit amongst the more able players and play what they can, when they can.  Ask for your free sheet music at the club and lets make this thing happen.
