Our September Meeting started with some of our players doing their spots on the stage, then we moved on to a free for all (practice night) format. We started the night with Ann Parker playing Snow Waltz, Loveliest Night Of The Year, Beautiful Days, and Yodelling Polka. Our next player Sara Daly took to the stage and played Emma and Jamies Wedding and Midnight Waltz. Colin Ensor followed Sara, he played Down Forget Me Not Lane, More Than You Know, O Sole Mio, Sorrento, La Vie En Rose, Pigalle, Back Home Again, Sweetheart of All My Dreams and The Way Old Friends Do.
The floor was then open for anyone to play anything in any part of the room, chat, drink coffee, repair accordions, swap tips, help each other with music
etc. We had a few people returning to the club for the first time since we had to shut down due to Covid, and we had a new face who had just bought an accordion. The rest of the night was busy with lots of playing, discussions, tea and coffee being drunk and an accordion repair happening.
The night ended at the usual 11pm when they came to lock the place up and we all went home happy to be able to meet up again and listen (and play) live
music.

We will
be meeting this Tuesday 18th of October. Doors open at 8pm with a hybrid meeting as usual. We will start with any players on the stage who want to play or practice playing to an audience, then we will move on to having the rest of the evening as a
Practice Night. This way we can cater for most people’s preferences in one night, if you prefer to play on stage please arrive sooner rather than later and we will get all stage performances done first. As usual there will be Tea and Coffee on sale at 20p a Cup. Please bring yourselves and your accordion if you have one. See you at 8pm on Tuesday 18th. David.
