Our November Meeting started with Bernard Bamber playing Sweet 16, Halfway to Paradise, 40 Shades of Green, Whisky In The Jar, Lilli Marlene, Music Music Music, Travelling Light, Lovely Rose Of Clare, A Blue Blue Day and Galway Bay. Our next player was Michael who took to the stage and played The Road and the Miles, Westering Home, Green Fields Of France
and Momhathair (My Mother). Up next was Ann Parker, Ann played Memories Are Made Of This, Roll Out The Barrel and Bluebell Polka. Sara Daly was our next player, she gave us The Leaving Of Friday Harbour, Genevieves Waltz, Please Don’t Talk About Me and Midnight Waltz. We had just two more players on the list at this point so Colin Ensor stopped writing down what others were playing and took his place on the stage. Colin played Cruising Down The River,
Dream, Wonderful Land, Theme From Godfather, Stranger On The Shore and Whose Taking You Home Tonight. To finish the stage part of the night I played Oslo Waltz, Whispering Hope and Now Is The Hour. The lights then went up and the rest of the night was an open session with people around the room drinking tea and coffee, lots of playing, discussions, chat, and an accordion repair happening on the stage.
The night ended at the usual 11pm when they came to lock the place up and we all went home happy to be able to meet up again and listen (and play) live
music.

At our
meeting this month we will be having our usual Christmas Let Your Hair Down Jacobs Join. This is where we each bring a few sandwiches, nibbles, pork pies, or something similar to put on tables at the back of the room for all to sample. At our Christmas meeting we always have this open night were we encourage anyone to take to the stage, play any instrument or their party piece.
If you play another instrument please bring it along, if you want to do a monologue or something else then we look forward to it. I know one person is bringing their keyboard, someone else is bringing a trumpet and other instruments to play.
We will be meeting this Tuesday 20th of December. Doors open at 8pm See you at 8pm on Tuesday 20th. David.

Just as the newsletter was being written I heard the sad news that Gladys Rigby (David Rigby’s wife) had passed away in hospital on the 25th of
November. Her funeral was held on the 13th December where our own Bernard Belshaw was asked to play the accordion. He played Highland Cathedral and Ave Maria. Gladys was 75 years old. I would like to send our condolences to David Rigby and the rest of her family.
